New Delhi: ASN Senior Secondary School, Mayur Vihar-1 recently commemorated the achievements of the students for the academic year 2017 - 2018, in a ceremonious convocation. The felicitation was for excellence in overall performance on the basis of scholastic and co-scholastic domains.

The occasion was graced by Shri Ram Niwas Goel, Honourable Speaker , Delhi Legislative Assembly , NCT Delhi as the chief guest.  Ms.  Tara Walwekar, Deputy Director of Education, District East presided over the function. Dr. Sanjay Chaturvedi, Deputy Director of Education, Zone II and Shri Surajmal Verma, Sangthan  Adhyaksh  AAP, Trilokpuri were the Guests of Honour along with School Chairman, Shri. K.L. Luthra, School Managing Director, Shri Rajiv Luthra and School Principal, Ms. Sonia Luthra.
The program took an auspicious start with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and the members of the management followed by soulful Ganesh Vandana.
School Principal, formally welcomed the eminent guests and read out the School Annual Report. She outlined the school's achievement, events and activities. She in her address said that Knowledge itself is power and to become a Vishwa Guru again, we should all be equipped with this powerful tool called Education. 
A plethora of cultural events based on the theme ‘Vishwa Guru Ho Rashtra Punah’ were enthusiastically presented by the students. The thought provoking play on the theme with its moral and ethical message proved to be the most captivating performance.
The Chief Guest Shri Ram Niwas Goel, congratulated the students for their performance and announced a cash prize of Rs 2100 /- specially for outstanding performers of class V Rishi Sharma and Anuvrat Khurana. He emphasized on self-discipline in life by honestly following simple steps to save basic amenities like water, food and electricity. He also said that the only way to become Vishwa Guru again is to start first from home, then school and then society at large.
The event witnessed the felicitation of the diligent and industrious students for their remarkable performance. The students of class XI, Harshit Bhalla, Priyanka Chhabra, Nikhil Jha, Syed Mohd. Faran, Peeha Nainwal, Bhavya Goel, Utkarsh, Parnika, Pranav Parth Singhai and Lekhanshi Manocha scored 85% and above were awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 5700/-
Harshita Tomar of Class XI who secured first position in 63rd National School Games in Jeet – Kune – Do Tournament 2017-18 was also given a cash prize of Rs. 11000/-.
School Chairman, Shri K.L. Luthra applauded the efforts of the achievers and motivated them to always aim for excellence through perfection in their cherished goals
The beaming  faces of the proud parents, the applauding and cheerfulness added to the appreciation of the hard-work of the students. The event culminated with a vote of thanks
